BotswanaPost was amongst the stakeholders that sponsored and participated at the
University of Botswana (UB) Foundation’s Golf Day held in Gaborone on the 8 th July 2022.

Giving his welcome remarks at the event, UB Vice Chancellor, Professor Norris
stated that the sponsorships would go a long way in augmenting the Graduate
Scholarship Endowment Fund by making funds available for the less privileged and
other deserving and qualifying graduate students at UB. Held annually, the
fundraising event brings together corporate leaders for a day of networking in a relaxed
and informal environment.
Explaining their participation at this year’s event, BotswanaPost General Manager -
Business Development and Products, Mr. Kagiso Mokgosi said, “In addition to
BotswanaPost’s long standing support of UB’s Graduate programme, we also wanted to use
this opportunity to engage our valued customers and other stakeholders outside the
constraints of the office. We had fruitful engagements which we intend to build on to take
the company forward.”

BotswanaPost fielded a team comprising of its Board Director Dr. Tshiamo Motshegwa,
General Manager – Business Development and Products, Mr. Kagiso Mokgosi, Ms. Patience
Matlotse – Lady Captain, Gaborone Golf Club and Mr. Modiri Phuthego – Hollard Business
Development Manager.

BotswanaPost Communications Manager, Tshepo Happy Maphanyane revealed that the
relationship between BotswanaPost and the University spans many years thus as an
organization they saw it fit to support the worthwhile initiative. Outlining the
organization’s mandate, Maphanyane added, “Our participation affords us the opportunity
to further position the Post brand to a wider market to ensure that our clients get
premium postal services irrespective of their location. Following the devastation of the
Covid – 19 pandemic, we have accelerated and diversified our product and service offering
by introducing technologically driven solutions such as the introduction and launching of
the revamped Poso App, the Virtual Teller Machine and Virtual Post Box amongst other
offerings which are accessible 24 hours and have brought convenience to customers”.
