collectors, history enthusiasts and diamond aficionados to explore the narrative of

“Stamps hold great value beyond their function as promissory notes, a form of receipt
used to acknowledge pre-payment for postal services. More importantly, a stamp has the
unique function as a messenger or country ambassador. It is a statement of Sovereignty
or Independence, promotes social change, an outlet of celebration and promotion of a
country’s culture and heritage. A stamp is a collectible item of value which may be
different from its face value. Thus the collaboration with Debswana Mining Company

underpins a mutual commitment to immortalize Botswana's extraordinary diamond
history, while also providing a platform for the growth of stamp development which
includes affording local artists and graphic designers the platform to showcase their
talent and contribute to the country's artistic legacy through stamps.” BotswanaPost
Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Cornelius Ramatlhakwane.
The “Diamonds of Botswana” stamp launch will also be attended by the Minister of
Mineral Resources and Energy Honorable Lefoko Maxwell Moagi and Minister of
Communications, Knowledge and Technology, Honorable Thulagano Merafe Segokgo.
The event will feature an exhibition of the stamp collection, interactive displays, and
engaging presentations on Botswana's diamond industry.
Debswana Diamond Company and BotswanaPost invite members of the media to join
them at the launch ceremony to witness this remarkable collaboration and gain valuable
insights into the significance of Botswana's diamond mining history. Journalists will have
the opportunity to speak with key representatives from both organisations, as well as
